Music Moment

Lately I've been exploring some new music and just broadening my musical horizons. It's been really good and I thought I should share some of my findings:

Best Concert EVER!

Last night I went and saw Bryan Adams at Kingsbury Hall. Totally acoustic show, just him, his guitar and someone handy on the piano. It was heaven. He has such an amazing voice and I give him a lot of credit for doing an acoustic show. It demonstrates true talent. It was hands down the best concert I've ever been to and I wouldn't trade the experience. So, ha ha, I'm the lucky one! (Though I have to admit, some of the love songs made me tear up a bit but sh! don't tell anyone!)

It Won't Go Away!

I've had this song stuck in my head for a few days now. It's all I can think about!

The Death of The King of Pop

I had to say my piece. I have to admit that Michael Jackson is easily hands-down the top entertainer of our time. However, I'm really sick of people saying that he was better than Elvis. Elvis was on a totally different level they are not comparable, I'm not saying Michael Jackson is worse I'm just saying you can't compare them. I've been watching all of these specials about Michael Jackson and I have to say I've never been a huge fan of the music but MAN THAT GUY HAD SOME AWESOME MOVES! Just as a tribute I had to include the music video for my favorite MJ song. RIP Michael Jackson you need some peace because you certainly didn't find it in this life.

Beautitul Song

I'm really loving this song right now. I wanted to post the live version because it's amazing how well Carrie Underwood performs live and I like seeing Randy Travis sitting next to her, he's a legend in his own right.

I Usually Try to Stay Away From Pop but...

Music IS My Life...

I have yet another song addiction! This song is probably the most beautiful thing I've heard in a really long time. This is one of those songs that I hear and think: I wish someone felt that way about me. That would truly be flattering. Thank you Heather and KJ for introducing me to this one!

White Horse

My latest song addiction. It makes me cry because it applies just a little too much. Here's for all the broken hearted girls out there who have realized their fairytale will never come true...

Something To Make Me Smile

On Sunday we were getting ready for choir practice when I realized that our pianist wasn't there. Big problem. They sent in a lady from the stake to help us out and she told us that we didn't have enough people in our ward who was able to play piano and she would give anyone who was interested FREE LESSONS! Oh yeah, I totally jumped all over that. It will be so nice to be playing again and who knows? Maybe I'll be playing for our ward soon.

Now, the issue is... I need something to practice on. Pray that my mother is merciful and let's me borrow her keyboard. I really hope everything works out. Music is a big part of who I am and I have to admit there's been a bit of a hole in my soul since I haven't been able to play the piano like I used to. I really feel like this is a step in the right direction. Maybe playing the piano again will pull me out of my depression that I've been in lately. One can only hope!

Guess My Mood

So, this is the song I've been listening to a lot lately. Can you guess my mood?

It's Not That Complicated

I hear a lot of guys piss and moan about how complicated women are with what they want in a man. It's really not that complicated at all. Do a little nice thing to help out here and there, tell her you love her, hold her in your arms once in a while without expecting some hot steamy action (what's funny is if you do this sometimes she ends up wanting hot steamy action), surprise her with something once in a while (heck, flowers are like $10 at Wal-Mart), listen instead of waiting for her to finish talking and then shove solutions on her, and listen to this song and take it to heart:
"Stand Beside Me"
He left me cryin' late one Sunday night outside of Boulder
He said he had to find himself out on the road
I guess when love goes wrong you've gotta learn to be strong
So I worked two jobs and I moved three times
I ended up south of Memphis workin' down in Riverside
I may not be so lucky in love but the one thing I'm sure of
I want a man that stands beside me
Not in front of or behind me
Give me two arms that want to hold me not own me
And I'll give all the love in my heart
Stand beside me
Be true don't tell lies to me
I'm not lookin' for a fantasy
I want a man that who stands beside me
I didn't expect to see him one hot July morning
His hair was longer but his eyes were the same old blue
He said, I've missed you for so long. Oh baby, what can I do
I said,
I want a man that stands beside me
Not in front of or behind me
Give me two arms that want to hold me not own me
And I'll give all the love in my heart
It's hard to tell him no when I want him so bad
But I've got to be true to my heart
This time
I'm not lookin' for a fantasy
I want a man who stands beside me
I want a man who stands beside me
Stand beside me
Stand beside me

Also take a listen to Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman by Bryan Adams. Take that one to heart and you'll have her eating out of the palm of your hand!

Nuttin' But Stringz

Last night I was at my mother's when she shushed me in the middle of our conversation to watch something on TV, this is a common occurrence that annoys me to no end. I'm not a big fan of TV, I think it's a waste for the most part, and I hate it when people choose TV over people. However, what she shushed me to watch was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. She was watching America's Got Talent and she wanted to watch one of the hopefuls perform. They're a couple of brothers who call themselves "Nuttin' But Stringz." Check it out!

Music Mood

I'm in a music mood today. I think that's all I've done today is listen to music while I've done all the little side projects they've brought to me. One of my favorite bands is Staind. Aaron Lewis is an amazing song writer and poet. If you haven't given this band much play, start now. There is some great music to be had from Staind. I wanted to share one of my favorite songs by them, just to get you all started:

TURN IT UP!

I absolutely love this song! I'm embarrassed to say that I had never heard it until I played it on Guitar Hero. Once I heard it I fell in love. It's got a message that I think most people can relate to and it's got an awesome overall sound. Check it out and TURN IT UP!

I Can't Believe I Missed It!

I'm sitting here at work, minding my own business when a couple of co-workers come through my lobby talking about their evening. I hear Matt say that he went to the Nine Inch Nails last night concert and I wanted to cry! I missed it! I would have loved to see Trent Reznor, genius that he is, at work! I thought I had another week but no, it was last night. I'm so upset! I really wanted to go to that concert and now I'll probably have to wait at least another year before they come back. (Sigh) My luck sucks. Now I've got the concert bug so I've been browsing. Reverend Horton Heat is coming soon, I would enjoy that show if I could find someone to go with me. Apocolyptica is coming shortly after that. I'm new to this band but they've got my attention. I'm still just so upset that I missed Nine Inch Nails! I need to be a little more on the ball next time.

Crue Fest

Well, hmm.... It started out good. We were dancing and having a good time. We missed Trapt but had a blast with Sixx A.M. and Papa Roach. The first part of Buckcherry's set was pretty good too but then things went down hill fast. The whole show got really pornographic and it just kind of took the fun right out of it for me. The fact that I was babysitting sloppy drunks didn't make things better either but at least it was fun at first. I got some good pics from when I was still having fun though.

Too bad it went down hill, honestly, it was so bad that it might be my last rock concert. I'm kind of turned off by the whole experience now.

Katy Perry

I've always been very into music, especially considering it was my only friend growing up alone. I'm always on the lookout for new talent and I'm really liking this girl: Katy Perry. Most of you have heard her song "I Kissed A Girl" which is a good song but really, it's not her masterpiece. I don't know if we've seen it yet, she has many other songs that are much more note worthy in my opinion. I decided to share some of the music videos of my favorites. Enjoy!
