All is Lost

Today I spent some time thinking about my Grandpa Davis. I thought back to the day of his funeral and how utterly empty I felt. As I looked at his coffin I knew there and then that I would never have that loving adoration ever again. It broke my heart then and it breaks my heart now. I try really hard to be appreciative of what I have when I have it. How did I end up taking him and the love he gave to me for granted? The man was far from perfect, and in all honesty, he was kind of a jerk to everyone else but he really loved me and I loved him despite all his faults. I know that the rest of my family thinks I had a bad case of "rose colored glasses" when it comes to him but I didn't. I knew all his dirty little secrets but I didn't care. I loved him unconditionally. I seem to have a talent for that, maybe too much. I miss my grandpa, I still cry when I think about him, and I sincerely hope that someday, somehow I can have that sort of love back, though I doubt it.

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple

This week I went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house with Melissa and Steven. It was such a beautiful temple. We walked through like you always do, enjoying the beauty and then we headed off to a sealing room. As we sat in the sealing room listening to the couple talk about the importance of temple marriage I started to tear up. I looked around at this beautiful room and I was hit with the sudden realization of: "this is where I'm going to get married." I've always had my heart set on the Salt Lake Temple but as I sat there I knew that this temple was the one I was meant to get married in. It was a beautiful temple and I highly suggest that if you haven't gone to the open house yet you should before time runs out!

Computer Stress

So between my DGM class, the computer system at work screwing up on a daily basis, and trying to figure out how to set up a web page, online marketing, and profiles for my dad.... I really need a break from computers. This is getting to be too much!

I Feel Like a Jerk...

Last night I got angry with my homework that I couldn't figure out and I punched a hole in my mom's wall. I feel like a jerk.

Get Real People!

Last week my mother bought a Wii Fit and I was really excited to try it. Then I heard people say that it tells almost everyone that they're obese and that it heckles you and makes you feel bad about yourself so I was really nervous about it. However, I did what I usually do and tried it out to see for myself. All I have to say is...."HOLY CRAP PEOPLE, GET REAL!" It doesn't heckle you it tells you where you need improvement. I'm no skinny mini and it told me that I was only a bit overweight, which is the truth. So my guess is, if it told you that you're obese that's because you are and if you can't handle that you shouldn't have bought the thing looking to get help in the first place. I believe that your health can be handled like an addiction. The first step in recovering from an addiction is admitting you have a problem. If you can't be real about the problems your having with your weight than you're never going to improve. If you're ready to get real about your body and really work on it, I actually suggest the Wii Fit. So far I LOVE it even though there are certain things that I suck at. Get real about making a change, I think this could really help people along, it's like having your own personal trainer in your living room. Yeah, it may call me a "couch potato" but it's true and I'm ready to change that. If you're not progressing, you're digressing. There is no such thing is stagnancy in our lives!

My Birthday.

Well, there was good food, lots of family, fun, making money, and a few good friends. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that so many of my friends bailed out. I try to understand that things happen, people get sick, and things like that, I only ask for people to come celebrate once a year with me, other than that I don't really ask for anything. I felt like I got a lot of lame excuses, a few lies, and I some people who said they were going to be there and then just flat out blew me off without any explanation. It hurt a little bit because some of them I have worked really hard to be there for and I don't demand a lot, I just wanted friends to celebrate my birthday with. I really learned who my true friends are. However, I was REALLY impressed with Heather. Heather lives clear down in Ephraim and drove all that way. Thanks hun, you really made me feel special.

On the actual day of my birthday we went to Wendover to play a little black jack. I did awesome! It was so much fun! I love it when I get on a winning streak. Of course, Steven made my day special. That's what he's good at so it was no surprise. I was so grateful for everything he did and I've been trying to show him that. I hope that he feels appreciated because he truly is. I gave myself the present of changing my info back to my maiden name and it feels so good. I really feel like myself again. I feel like I've reclaimed the best aspects of my pre-marriage personality. It's nice. Plus, I feel closer to my dad again. I don't understand how a name change can do that but it really does. Overall, it was a happy birthday. I am so grateful to the people who helped made that possible. Thank you all.

The Passing Of My Last Great Grandparent

My Great Grandpa Turner finally passed on December 19 2008. I'm not trying to be rude when I say "finally" but he was suffering and I'm so grateful that he doesn't have to suffer anymore. His funeral was today and it was good to honor him but I ended up very upset. My Great Grandpa was a honorable man that served his country in the Navy during World War 2 but he had no 21 gun salute. I was furious! They just didn't come. My Grandfather deserves that respect and it was respect he didn't get. I am proud of my Grandfather's service and I will always remember the sacrafice he made for my freedom.

Vegas Baby YAY!

So, I went to Vegas and had more fun than should be allowed. My mom even took me to see The Thunder Down Under and I even got my own steamy lap dance, much fun. (Though the grease stuff they put all over themselves feels nasty!) We also went to The Conservatory in The Bellagio and we went to The Secret Garden at The Mirage. It was a good trip. Enjoy the pics!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

I had such a crazy busy weekend! Friday I started a new job. I was a little stressed but it's all good. Then I went to visit Cheri and Brandon. I don't get to see them enough these days. Then I spent the night with Michelle. It was good to spend some time with her.

Saturday I went to the afternoon session of conference with Heather. I was really glad we went and it was a fun new experience for me. Then I went to The Tavernacle with my dad, Aunt Linda, Uncle Jon, and Aunt Karen. It was my Aunt Karen's first time going and I think she had a lot of fun. I had a good time. They kept doing this really funny song called "Bartender." I really liked it.

Sunday I went clean crazy again! I cleaned out all my drawers and my closed so I need to make a trip to the D.I. today. It was my friend Wade's birthday. He's now 21. We hung out and played dice for a while. Then I went to hang out with my buddies Derek and Dustin. They're good guys. It was a busy weekend!

My Poor Daddy

This morning I was in the bathroom getting ready for work when my dad came home from work, he's been working graves for the past couple of weeks. I heard him come in and then I heard some odd sounding footsteps. I walked into the kitchen to find my dad limping! I asked him what happened to him and his response was, "My toes got ran over by a 6,000lb. lift truck." 6,000lbs! It crushed his poor toes. He spent a few hours in the emergency room while they tried to stop the bleeding and reset his toes. Here's the kicker though... He's going to try to go back to work tonight! I'm going to try to stop him but lord only knows if he'll actually listen to me. I hope his toes heal properly, poor guy.

Where Did The Weekend Go?

This weekend was so full and went by so fast that's it's left me thinking, "Where did the weekend go?" Friday night I went to The Tavernacle. I love the place but I just didn't have as much fun as I usually do, my heart wasn't in it or something, I don't know.

Saturday Steven and I drove the loop and then went bowling with Heather and Phil. It was a lot of fun and we got some crazy, fun pictures.

Sunday I went hiking with my dad and Steven to Stewart's Falls. It was a lot of fun, we saw a snake and heard some elk. We told wild life stories along the way, it was a good time.

Just A Little Bit Spoiled

My grandmother really likes nice things. When she buys nice things she takes really good care of them and keeps them nice. So when my grandma called me and asked me if I wanted her really nice used bed spread that came with a bed skirt, pillow shams, and throw pillows I leaped at the opportunity. She got it about a year ago at one of those early morning mad-dash sales where she got it for half price. The little set was worth $300 when she bought it. I'm starting to worry that it may be a little too fancy for me, that maybe I don't deserve to have something so nice but I'm trying to get rid of that idea. Why wouldn't I deserve it? I have to keep reminding myself that it's a hand-me-down to make myself feel better. Yep, now I've got a bed fit for a queen in my little apartment. Kind of funny, huh?

Upcoming Vacation

My mother decided that she and I needed a vacation so we're going to Las Vegas in October! So excited! After we bought the plane tickets we started browsing online for some entertainment while we're there and came across a little class I want to take with my mom: Stripper 101. Yeah, you read it right Stripper 101. My mom is being a bit reluctant but I'm going to work on her, see if I can get her to loosen up and go. I think it would be awesome! It's a package that comes with a 75 minute class, a picture of you busting your best move, a t-shirt, and a certificate proclaiming that you are now an official Vegas Stripper. Will I ever use this skill? Maybe on that far away day that I actually get married, but until then it's just something fun I want to do to be able to say that I did it. Pole dancing here I come!

Lava Hot Springs!

So, I went to Lava Hot Springs and had a blast! Went tubing down the river, swam, went to a parade, shopped, went to the hot springs and spent a lot of time with the family! We had a good time, everyone left happy.
After all this fun I decided to be a little adventerous and I went to a palm reader. She had some really interesting things to say. She said she had never seen so many achievment lines on one person's palm so look out world here I come! Two sources of income soon, I could use that. She said I would marry again at age 25, be married for 40-50 years, I would be widowed, and remarry. She said I would have 4 kids, which I already knew. She had a lot of other stuff to say but I'm not going to go into it here. It was fun and I'm glad I went. I sure did miss Steven though and couldn't keep away from him when I got home!

One Fun Weekend!

I had a pretty fun weekend. First we went to the rodeo. I went with my dad, Tyler, and Michelle. It was kind of a boring rodeo, the crowd just wasn't getting into it. There were some injuries that had me worried as well, I hope the young men are ok. Then the next day they had the parade and some fun stuff at the park for the kiddies. I took Kelsey and Denyon and they did the pony ride and got their faces painted. It was a lot of fun for them. Anyway, enjoy the pics.
I helped build the float above, it's a yellow submarine, pretty sweet huh?

Daddy Daughter Time

Today my good friend Michelle was gracious enough to take some pictures of my dad and I together. It's something we've been needing to do for a while. Some of them I liked so much that I wanted to post them here for you to see. Enjoy! We're kind of sad that half my head got cut off in this one but it's still pretty good.

This is definitely one of my favorites. It just turned out really nicely.
Another favorite. I picked that flower just to be silly but now I'm really glad I added it to the few pictures I did.

This one says a lot about the kind of relationship we have, to me. He's very protective.

It was a fun day, thanks a million Michelle!
