By and by time passes on
Hence the reason for my sorrowful song.
Light diminishes, darkness prevails
Away sails the ship with the golden sails.
The pure things are fleeing, the children are crying.
The hope of this world is slowly dying.
The men have marched through and taken what they want
Leaving what is left behind to rot.
The parasites rage on, the flower wilts.
The balance continues its downward tilt.
The green and good things perish, the angels have fled.
The beasts’ insatiable appetite can never be fed.
The wounds are too deep to ever mend,
Behold the terrible world of men.
