Last night I was up late, big surprise, getting ready to go to bed when I started hearing noises at the front of my apartment. One of the reasons I enjoy living in an apartment is because when I hear noises I think to myself, "Neighbors" and blow it off. So, I'm blowing off the noises when I hear my back screen door open and shut and then I loud bang that I couldn't place. I still have no clue what that noise was. I got scared and couldn't move as the noises continued! The only thing I could bring myself to do was text Steven. He rushed over, just as nervous as I was, and I unfroze a little bit. Realized that I had been texting other people and responded to their texts so they knew what was going on. Once others heard that I was worried someone was breaking in everybody wanted to come over and make sure all was well. I figured one was enough and told them to stay. Steven was nice enough to stay until I fell asleep. My land lord found nothing. I still have no clue what it was. It took me forever to get to sleep because I was freaking out. Then I had to put the curtain over the window fan and turn the fan off because I was freaking out that someone was looking at me through my window fan. I got the other fan but it wasn't enough and I got too hot during the night so now I'm sleep deprived AND sick to my stomach. Today sucks, I want tomorrow to be here now.

That is so scarry! One time I was home alone, my husband worked nights and it was before I had kids. I was just sitting watching TV and someone tried my front door. It was an old apartment so it was dead bolted but I could see the handle turn. I just froze like you did. I still think to this day what if I forgot to put on the deadbolt and who ever it was they got in. Keep you doors locked!
