Marie Antoinette

I watched Marie Antoinette last night, going into it knowing not to expect much and I'm very glad I didn't. Janessa was right, it's not a bad movie but it's not exactly a good movie either. Some of it was very fun but it certainly wasn't all that true to the times. There was a lot of modern music in it and it was very weird. In one scene it shows her and her ladies shopping and eating sweets while the song "I Want Candy" is playing in the background. Did it get the point across? Sure. Was it true to the times? No, therefore it gave it a really tacky feel. If you like obscure artsy films than go for it, I do and even still I wasn't all that impressed. Plus, let's face it, Kirsten Dunst isn't exactly the best actress in the world. The ending was dreadful, it really wasn't much of an ending at all. Now, if they had put a little paragraph at the end telling you what happened to her after the last scene it would have been fine. For those who don't know their history I'm sure when it ended they felt ripped off. "What happened next?" There's no way around it, it was a lame ending. It could have been a better movie and it could have been worse.

haha I actually liked the shopping part, mostly because I'd want to be there! And thank you...you are so sweet!
